Rajasthan police issue challan to 2.5 lakh people for not wearing masks

Jaipur: The police administration has now been more alert over the rising corona cases in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan police is now taking action expeditiously against those who do not wear mask in public places in violation of the pandemic rule. In the state, 2 lakh 54 thousand persons have been fined for not wearing masks in public places to prevent corona infection, 12 thousand 640 for selling goods without masks, 3 lakh 91 thousand 181 persons for not keeping physical distance.

Director-General of Police, Shri M. L. Lather has informed that a fine of over 9 crores 72 lakh rupees has been levied so far under the Rajasthan Epidemiological Ordinance to prevent corona infection in the diocese. Three thousand 651 FIRs have been registered for violation of prohibitory orders and quarantine norms.

Taking action on the basis of these FIRs, the Rajasthan police has so far arrested 8,000 78 persons. Under prohibitory orders and MV Act, 9 lakh 34 thousand 609 vehicles were challaned and 1 lakh 66 thousand 15 vehicles were seized and fines of more than Rs. 16 crore 94 lakh has been recovered.
