Mortar explosion leaves BSF jawan dead in Jaisalmer

New Delhi: A major incident took place today at the Kishangarh Field Firing Range of the Indian Army located in Jaisalmer district on the Indo-Pak International Border. A Border Security Force jawan was killed when a mortar exploded here, while 8 more jawans were injured in the incident. The injured were taken to a hospital in Ramgarh. The jawans who met with the accident are said to be from BSF Punjab Frontier. After the accident, there was an atmosphere of commotion. The jawan who lost his life in the accident has been identified as Sandeep Kumar.

Kishangarh firing range is located near Tanot on the Indo-Pak border. There is continuous practice. On Sunday also, BSF jawans were engaged in regular practice. In the meantime, the accident took place in the morning. As soon as the accident occurred, there was a one-time panic and the injured jawans were rushed to a nearby Ramgarh hospital and treatment was started there.

Where it has been found that the jawans who had come to practice in the firing range started burning bonfires after seeing a clean place there due to cold. They didn't know that the live bomb was buried under the same. Soon the heat of the fire reached the bomb buried in the ground and there was a loud blast. The explosion was so loud that the jawans threw a long way and there was chaos.
