Goa is a popular vacation spot where some people go to unwind and others to partake in adventurous activities. Although there has previously been a greater interest in only water sports, the local tourism department has now begun making plans to promote trekking.

When the name Goa is mentioned, what is the first thing that pops into your head? The beaches, stunning sunsets, sea waves, and a wide variety of entertaining and adventurous water activities would therefore be the most common responses. However, what if we told you that you can now go hiking there as well? You read that correctly. To promote tourism in the state's interior and draw more visitors, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has started a monsoon trekking program from Tambadi Surla-Mollem in South Goa.

In reference to this, GTDC Chairman Ganesh Gaonkar stated that the coastal state would give meaning to the concept of "Atithi Devo Bhava." Every visitor, he said, should maintain their safety and take advantage of the monsoon trekking season. Please share some exciting Goa trekking locations with us.

Where to go for trekking in Goa?

Gaonkar advised travelers to engage in trekking activities safely because the Goa state government is concentrating on tourism in the hinterland. Here are some options for Goa trekking during the monsoon.

Sonsogor Trek

Head to Sonsogar if you want to know what it's like to be at the top. One of the three highest peaks in the state is Sonsogor, and visiting it is like visiting the top of Goa. It might take two to three hours to hike here. However, since every person has a unique experience, it might be greater or smaller than this.

Dudhsagar Trek

You must have only seen Dudhsagar on film up until this point. It is renowned for being one of India's five highest waterfalls. The most well-known waterfall in Goa is called Dudhsagar, and words cannot express how beautiful it is. Trekking here in the monsoon season will allow you to see its ethereal beauty as it winds through the thick forests of the Western Ghats.

Pali Waterfall Trek

Another fantastic waterfall trekking option in Goa is Pali Falls. However, during the monsoons, the path here gets a little slick, so you'll need to be extra cautious when picking your trekking footwear. The more you explore this area's forest, which is among Goa's densest, the more in touch with nature you become.

Hivarum Trek

One of the places in Goa that is least visited is Hivaram Falls. You will have to traverse some steep slopes here, giving you trekking experience. The fact that there are three waterfalls nearby that you must cross makes for an interesting point.
