London: People in the world are in panic and waiting for its medicine or vaccine of the corona. Meanwhile, a report released by Oxford University states that cheap and easily available dexamethasone saves the lives of people struggling with corona infection. In addition, the report of the study also states that the probability of death of people who are on the ventilator was reduced by one third.
While Dexamethasone results have been described as 'groundbreaking' by the UK government's Chief Scientific Advisor, Patrick Vallance, the Imperial College London has announced that they are going to trial it for humans from this week itself. The university said in March that a recovery trial was initiated for its test range on various patients of the coronavirus, including low-dose dexamethasone. Over 11,500 patients from more than 175 UK hospitals were enrolled.
A total of 2104 patients were given 6mg of medication a day (via mung or by injection) for 10 days and compared with 4321 patients who underwent normal care. Among those who were treated normally, mortality was highest in 28 days. Of these 41 percent were given ventilation, 25 percent were given oxygen and only 13 percent of the patients who were not given any breath. The report stated that, "Dexamethasone saved one-third of ventilator patients and one-fifth of those patients being given oxygen. However, the patients did not get any benefit from it, which was not applied separately for breath. ”
