UP Congress committee President Ajay Kumar Lallu gets bail from High Court

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court in Uttar Pradesh has approved the bail of Ajay Kumar Lallu, chairman of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee. He was arrested on 21 May in Agra for violating the lockdown. The bail has been obtained from the Lucknow bench of the High Court. A single-member bench of High Court's Lucknow bench, Justice AR Masoodi, has approved the bail plea of State Congress President Ajay Kumar Lallu.

Ajay Kumar Lallu was arrested by the Lucknow Police from Agra on 21 May. He has been in jail since then. Now 25 days later, he will come out of jail. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court heard the bail plea of the President of the State Congress Committee on Tuesday. Justice AR Masudi heard the case. From video conferencing, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi debated while Satyendra Kumar Singh from Lucknow was in the court. Ajay Kumar Lallu was arrested on 21 May for protesting in Agra during lockdown. The Congress state president was arrested from Agra after which he was sent to jail. There were allegations of cheating in the list of buses given for migrant workers against them. His bail was approved on Tuesday.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra sent one thousand buses to send the workers to their homes during the lockdown. An FIR was lodged at Hazratganj police station against Priyanka Gandhi's secretary Sandeep Singh for alleged irregularities in the list, before the MP-MLA special court rejected the bail application of the Congress leader on June 1. After this, he filed a bail petition in the High Court. The Congress leader argues that he has no role in the bus list dispute. They have been implicated for political reasons.
