London: Liz Truss has resigned from the post of PM amid the economic crisis and political turmoil in Britain. She was the Prime Minister of Britain for just 44 days. The special thing is that after the resignation of former PM Boris Johnson, there was a 55-day contest for the leader of the Conservative Party in Britain, after which Liz Truss became the Prime Minister. He defeated the Indian-origin sage Sunak. With this, Liz Truss's name became the record for being the Prime Minister of Britain for the shortest number of days.

Prior to this, former British Prime Minister George Canning, who had been in power for 119 days in 1827, died. The longest-serving prime minister in Britain is Sir Robert Walpole, who held this position for 20 years 314 days. Liz Truss was elected leader of the Conservative Party on 5 September defeating Rishi Sunak. He was sworn in as Prime Minister by Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on 6 September. However, on 8 September Queen Elizabeth II died. After this, 10 days of state mourning was declared in Britain. Due to this the entire administration, including the government of Lij Truss, became involved in the service of the royal family.

Liz Truss made many big promises during the election campaign, including tax cuts. At present, Britain is facing inflation and economic crisis. In such a situation, the people of Britain also had high hopes for Truss. He presented the mini-budget in Parliament after becoming the Prime Minister. In this budget, he took many big steps including tax cuts. But after this, conditions like recession started to arise in Britain. In such a situation, soon these decisions were withdrawn by the government. Since then, Liz Truss was surrounded by her own party. He also recently sacked the finance minister and his old aide Kwasi Quarteng. Not only this, his party MPs had also decided to bring a no-confidence motion.

At the same time, after the resignation of Liz Truss, Boris Johnson has stepped up efforts to get the prime minister's chair. Boris Johnson resigned from the post of PM three months ago. He left the chair under pressure after several cabinet ministers resigned. After resigning, Boris Johnson also accused Rishi Sunak of stabbing him in the back.
