New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party will boycott the customary address of President Droupadi Murmu to the joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, calling her speech "a bundle of false promises and claims by the Narendra Modi Government."

AAP MLA Sanjay Singh stated on Twitter on Tuesday that the party will not be attending Murmu's speech since it contains "a bundle of false promises" and "false claims" made by the Narendra Modi-Government.

"The Modi government filled the Hon. President's speech with a number of misleading promises and assertions. There is not a single word of her own in this. Because the Modi government has failed on all fronts, @AamAadmiParty will abstain from the President's speech "Said Singh. On the opening day of a session, the President addresses the members of both Houses in the Central Hall of the Parliament.

President Droupadi Murmu will make his first speech to the combined session of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
At 12 o'clock, the party will conduct a press conference at Vijay Chowk to explain its case.

Ahead of the vital Telangana Assembly elections later this year, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has once again chosen to clash with the federal government by boycotting the president's traditional speech.
