Maharashtra: At least 12 people died and over 25 were injured after a bus fell into a ditch in Raigad's Khopoli in Maharashtra. Rescue operations are underway, said Raigad police.
In another incident, 4 people died in an accident an SUV and a private bus on NH-48 near Hirehalli, Tumkur in Karnataka. All four people in the car died on the spot. It was reported that the bodies were sent to the Tumkur District Hospital mortuary. A case has been registered by the police.
Earlier in March, 5 people were injured after a Bangalore-bound private bus from Mumbai met with an accident, informed. The bus met with an accident on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway near Bavdhan in Pune.
Last year, many students were injured after a bus carrying 48 students overturned in Raigad. The incident occurred in Khopoli police station area. As per police, the students were returning to Chembur after a picnic. The injured students were rushed to a nearby hospital. The condition of some of them were reported to be critical.
