Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai indicated on Wednesday that he will not discuss the cabinet reshuffle issue in public, showing the strain he is under.

When asked if the matter of cabinet reshuffle will be discussed in public during his New Delhi visit following the federal budget, Bommai curtly replied that the issue could not be discussed in public. He stated, "I don't want to have any open discussion on the subject."

In Karnataka, ruling BJP members have raised their voices in support of firing ineffective ministers and giving them a chance to serve as ministers in the party's interest ahead of the 2023 assembly elections.

Despite the fact that the BJP's High Command is preoccupied with elections in five states, senior legislators such as Tippa Reddy, Abhay Patil, Basavanagouda Patil Yatnal, and M.P. Renukacharya have demanded immediate cabinet expansion, stating that if it is not done within two months, it is not required.

Bommai is in a dilemma over the matter because a cabinet reshuffle will have a direct impact on the elections. Senior cabinet ministers K.S. Eshwarappa and Bhyrathi Basavaraj have stated that they are willing to resign if asked by the party. However, party sources claim that it will be a roller coaster ride for both CM Bommai and the party.
