JOHANNESBURG: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is exited of the performances of the 5 African teams at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, African Football Federation President Patrice Motsepe has said.

"For the first time in the FIFA World Cup's history, an African country has advanced to the semifinals. Our goal of guaranteeing that an African nation wins the World Cup of FIFA is still a viable and achievable goal, "At a news conference on Wednesday in Johannesburg, Motsepe stated.

The just-finished Qatar 2022 World Cup featured Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Ghana, and Cameroon participation.

He said that they were committed to enhancing the standard of football on the continent, including trainers, coaches, and referees, and that they would continue to invest in football schools, youth academies for both boys and girls, as well as football infrastructure and facilities.

"We are making great strides in making African football self-sufficient and competitive on a global scale. We will continue to utilise football as a means of bringing together people of various racial, ethnic, and religious origins in order to help everyone's social, economic, and living conditions improve "said Motsepe.
