One of the most awaited movies of the year Ponniyin Selvan remains in the news as it movie starts various big faces of the entertainment Industry. It will release on September 30 in Tamil, along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam. The movie also features Aishwarya Rai and South Mega Star Vikram.

The theatre owners of Canadian cities like Hamilton, Kitchener, and London are gearing up for the release of  Ponniyin Selvan and they are receiving death threats. The distributer of PS 1, K W Talkies shares screenshot of a threatening mail. As per the warning mail "Warning to theatre owners and workers, if you are planning to play the movie's from organized criminal KW Talkies Saleem, especially movie PS1 and Chup. We will tear up all your screen and release toxicity in the area and a few of your employees will end up in the hospital. We will not only be targeting this Indian movie, but we continue to attack other blockbuster English movies. We will continue to do so till you stop playing movies from Kw Talkies people. Christmas is not far away, we will be targeting all big hit movies both English and Indian. Learn from the landmark movie theatres, they stop movies to protect themselves. This will be an only warning..."

Sharing this warning mail KW  Talkies wrote, “I have updates from Hamilton, Kitchener and London. All the theatre owners have been threatened with attacks if they play PS1 Tamil or any movie from KW Talkies. Let's see how other places fare,” read a tweet from KW Talkies.

Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s popular novel on the life of Raja Raja Chozhan,  Ponniyin Selvan: Part One has a screenplay written by Mani Ratnam, Jeyamohan and Kumaravel. PS1 will be the first of a two-part film series. It stars South Star Vikram as Aditya Karikalan, Karthi as Vanthiyathevan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandini, Trisha as Kundhavai, and Jayam Ravi as Arulmozhi Varman. The magnum opus also features Ashwin Kakumanu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Parthiban, Rahman, Lal, Jayachitra, Riyaz Khan among others in pivotal roles.
