Chandigarh: Political turmoil has increased in several states of the country, now amid controversy in the Punjab Congress just before the assembly elections. He went to Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation to Governor Banwarilal Purohit. After his resignation, Captain Amarinder Singh said, "I had told Sonia Gandhi in the morning that I was resigning. Singh's son Raninder Singh had also tweeted about his father's resignation.''

In the same angry tone, Captain Amarinder Singh said that a meeting of MLAs was held thrice in two months. He said that this is the third time that discussions are being held with the MLAs. Captain Amarinder Singh said, "I have been insulted. He said that I was questioned about running the government. I will not accept the new Chief Minister, whoever the High Command may make the Chief Minister.''

At the same time, he said that he would discuss with my friends for future politics. Even before his resignation, Singh had said that it would be an insult to him to step down. Though he said that ''my paths are open. I will consider all the options. The name of the new CM is likely to be announced at the legislature party meeting to be held in Chandigarh on Saturday.'' However, it is not clear whether the new leader will be captain Singh's support or Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu.
