Beijing, In a tragic incident, several vehicles were swept away by flash floods in China's northwest province of Shaanxi, due to which seven people were killed and a child remained missing.

On Monday, the floods inundated Ansai County, Yan'an City when heavy rain caused two rivers to burst their banks, flooding roads and sweeping away five cars.

As per the police, the passengers of two vehicles managed to escape.

But, seven passengers from another three vehicles died on spot and their bodies were pulled from the river and the 5-year-old child is missing.

Yan'an government said in a statement, that more than 400 professionals have been involved in the search and rescue mission over the last two days.
