Jaunpur: A case has been registered against former MP Umakant Yadav and his two sons on charges of misconduct, sabotage and intimidation at Shahganj Kotwali in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh on the orders of SP Ravi Shankar Chhavi. A police spokesperson confirmed this on Sunday. He said that Kedarnath Jaiswal, a resident of Hussainganj Mohalla of Shahganj Kotwali area, had given an application to SP Ravi Shankar Chhavi that he has a land on Azamgarh road in Bhadi village.

Shops are built on the front part of Jaiswal Vidya Mandir land. Former MP Umakant Yadav is eyeing this precious land. Jaiswal has stated in his application that on August 18, the former MP along with his sons Dinesh Kant and Ravikant reached the shop of the medical store of tenant Rajesh Gupta and immediately threatened to evacuate him. On protesting, he abused the shopkeeper, threw drugs worth more than Rs 50 thousand from the shop.

Not only this, they also warned other shopkeepers to face the consequences of not immediately emptying the shop with the threat of running away. Taking the matter seriously, on the instructions of the SP, the Kotwali police registered a case against the former MP and his two sons on Saturday night under sections 504, 506, 427 of Indian Penal Code. The police are involved in the investigation of the matter.
