New Delhi: The ongoing political turmoil over the new Parliament building does not seem to stop. The opposition is adamant that the new Parliament building should be inaugurated by the President and not the Prime Minister. In response, the BJP has said that there have been occasions when the Prime Minister and the Chief Ministers of the state have inaugurated many historic buildings. A case has been registered against Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for making inflammatory speeches.

According to the report, a complaint has been filed against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Congress supremo Mallikarjun Kharge and others for making inflammatory statements citing the caste of His Majesty Draupadi Murmu about organising the inauguration of the new Parliament building with an aim to promote enmity between communities/groups. A case has been registered against them under sections 121, 153A, 505 and 34 IPC.

Arvind Kejriwal and Mallikarjun Kharge had said that the current President is a Dalit, so she has not been invited to the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building. There was fierce opposition from both the leaders on this matter and the BJP also targeted them. It was said that it is not right to comment on the caste of the President of the country in this way, while now a case has been filed regarding this matter.
