Mumbai: Thane's new Sena district president Kedar Dighe seems to be in legal trouble. It is reported that a case of threatening a rape victim has been registered against him. Former Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray had handed over the command of Thane district to Dighe three days ago. He is the nephew of late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe.

According to media reports, Dighe is accused of threatening a 23-year-old rape victim. The woman was allegedly raped by a friend of the Shiv Sena's Thane district president at a five-star hotel in Lower Parel. A case has been registered against Dighe and his friend Rohit Kapoor at NM Joshi Marg police station. A senior police officer said, "We had received the complaint and a case has been registered against Dighe. The accused has not yet been arrested." The case is said to be on July 28. Police said the woman works as a sales executive in the hotel and had met Kapoor to sell the club membership.

According to a media report, the woman later alleged that when she went to his room to collect the cheque, Kapoor raped her. "The woman told her friend about it and later went to his room on Monday to confront Kapoor. Dighe then allegedly offered him money for not complaining to the police and later threatened her with dire consequences.''
