On Thursday, a team of CBI officials along with several CRPF personnel reacehd at the house of  Mondal at Bolpur in Birbhum.  They entered the house and picked up the TMC leader and drove off.

The TMC leader was given notice to appear before the CBI on August 8 and August 10, but he ignored the summons. On August 8,  Mondal attempted to enrol at the state-run SSKM hospital in Kolkata, but the medical staff determined that he did not need to be admitted.

Mondal, a well-known TMC politician, played a key role in consolidating the party's power in Birbhum and surrounding areas.
