New Delhi: The CBI has raided the residence of Deputy CM Manish Sisodia over Delhi's excise policy. Raids have been conducted in 7 states including Delhi, raids are going on at a total of 21 locations. Raids are also on at the house of former excise commissioner A Gopi Krishna. Sisodia has also been named in the FIR. There are allegations that the new policy has violated the Delhi Excise Act and Delhi Excise Rules.

The government has incurred a loss of Rs 144 crore due to the waiver of licence fees of liquor vendors. As excise minister, Manish Sisodia has ignored the provisions. Along with this, liquor sales contracts were given to liquor manufacturing companies against the excise policy, while liquor manufacturers and suppliers cannot be given liquor vends. Rs 30 crore was refunded after a liquor contractor could not find a liquor shop, whereas as per the rule, this money should have gone to the government treasury.

According to sources, a 15-page report has been prepared by Chief Secretary Delhi Naresh Kumar in this regard, in which it is mentioned. The report was about related irregularities in the excise department, this report was sent to the Lieutenant Governor. He sent it to the Union Home Ministry. After this, this report was sent to the CBI and after that, the CBI has taken action against Manish Sisodia and all the people associated with him.
