CBIC declares the commencement of its refund drive

The CBIC ( Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs) has commenced its refund drive and has already cleared a worth of Rs. 7000 crore of pending refunds.

The tax department has asked the exporters and traders to visit their GST office or customs house, to settle accounts during the fortnight period from May 31 to June 14.

The CBIC, on June 8, through its official Twitter handle, informed that More than Rs 7,000 crores of IGST/ ITC refunds have been sanctioned till date, during the ongoing special refund fortnight.

 

 

The union government has taken several sincere steps to prevent any sort of arrears of refunds.

After being complained about the obstacles which were adversely affecting the shipments, the government has launched various campaigns to check the prevailing issues.

The CBIC has also informed the traders and exporters, that filling refund form on its portals, won’t be enough. The exporters will also have to submit a print-out of the form to the jurisdictional tax office.

The Tax Department has also declared that the claims are required to be filed to any one of the Tax authority, and not separately to the centre and the state, officials.
