NEW DELHI: Manish Sisodia, former deputy chief minister of Delhi who was detained by the CBI after being apprehended in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, will appear in court on Monday.

In connection with allegations of anomalies in the formulation and application of the excise policy of the Government of the National Capital  Region of Delhi (GNCTD), he was detained by the investigating agency.

Following the arrest, Sisodia resigned from his post as the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi on February 28.

In the meantime, on March 4, the Rouse Avenue Court prolonged Sisodia's detention by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Delhi spirits scam case. Manish Sisodia was given two additional days of detention to the CBI by Special Judge MK Nagpal.

The Court also issued notice to CBI on bail moved by Sisodia and listed the matter for March 10.
Sisodia's solicitor for the CBI had indicated that they needed more time to confront him with two people because he was still being uncooperative. "He spent a lot of time on his medicals. The Supreme Court dismissed the plea he submitted after one full day "The CBI informed the Court.
Senior Attorney Dayan Krishan had appeared for Sisodia in opposition to the CBI request for an extension of remand and made the following argument: "What has changed since day one compared to today? Raids were performed at both my home and office. Is it logical to think that putting me in CBI custody would result in the production of a document?"

Prominent attorney Mohit Mathur had also attended on behalf of Sisodia and argued that my wife's medical condition was being overlooked while all of this was being taken into account. He added, "The individual who is not going to flee has to be seen that way too.

Manish Sisodia asserted in court during the hearing that CBI officials were looking out for him, treating him with respect, and giving him whatever he needed without resorting to the third degree. Yet they have me sit for nine to ten hours every day while asking the same questions over and over again. This isn't any less than mental torment, he claimed. Following that, the court ordered CBI to refrain from posing the same queries.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader claimed in his bail petition filed before a trial court that holding him in detention would be ineffective because all recoveries had already been made.

Sisodia added that he joined the inquiry when the Central Bureau of Investigation requested it (CBI). Bail has previously been approved for the other suspects who have been detained in this investigation. Sisodia added that he is well-established in society and occupies the significant constitutional position of Deputy CM of Delhi.
