The last rites of General Bipin Rawat, the country's first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), who lost his life in the Tamil Nadu helicopter crash, are scheduled to be held at 4 pm today. However, earlier, the common people are going to pay homage to him and his wife in Delhi (Delhi). The mortal remains of General Bipin Rawat and his wife will be kept at his residence at 3 Kamaraj Marg from 11 am to 12:30 pm for the last glimpse of the general public. Thereafter, the time between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm will be fixed for military personnel in which they will pay homage to Bipin Rawat and his wife.

You all must be aware that 10 Armed Forces personnel were killed in the Mi-17 V5 helicopter crash besides General Rawat, his wife and Brigadier Lidder. The helicopter crash is said to be one of the major air accidents in India in the last few decades in which senior military officers were travelling. According to reports, 3 out of 13 victims have been identified while DNA tests will be conducted to identify other personnel. There are also reports that the mortal remains identified will be handed over to their families. While the rest will be kept in the mortuary of the military hospital till they are identified.

According to the information received, the bodies of all the people were brought to Palam Airbase in Delhi last Thursday after the helicopter crash where the family members of the three Army Chiefs and martyred jawans including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval paid homage to them.
