New Delhi: It seems impossible to hear a thousand matches and more than 7000 wickets. But that is the reality. Today we will know about a player who has done this. And now said goodbye to cricket. West Indies cricketer Cecil Wright has done this. He has announced retirement from cricket at the age of 85. Cecil Wright is affectionately called Cess. West Indies fast bowlers Cecil Wright, Gary Sobers, Wesley Hall, Garfield Sobers, and Sir Vivian Richards are playing cricket since the time of the match.

But in terms of playing up to record time, all these crusaders have been left behind. However, now this unique cricketer has decided to put an end to his cricketing career. Cecil has finally announced his retirement at the age of 85. Cecil of the West Indies has also played with Joel Garner, the great player of the same country.

He has also bowled Wesley Hall while playing for Barbados against Jamaica. In 1959 he also played for Crampton in the Central Lancashire League in England. Then, in 1962, he decided to settle in England permanently and started his career as a professional cricketer. Cecil played active cricket for nearly 60 years.

He took more than 7000 wickets during this time. At one point, his wicket-taking pace was so fast that he took 538 wickets in five seasons. That too with an extremely impressive average of 27. However, he told a newspaper that he had played more than 20 lakh matches. But that is not possible so it is believed that he will have played more than a thousand matches.
