The Censor Board of Kerala has categorically refused to give certificates to the upcoming Malayalam movie 'Puzha Muthal Puzha Vare' (from river to river) by movie director Ali Akbar aka Ramasimhan Abubakar on June 27, 2022. The movie is said to be based on the Moplah massacre in Kerala in the year 1921. It is said that the Moplah Muslims massacred the Hindus fiercely and later historians have given it the name of 'revolt against the landlords'.

According to media reports, he said, "The censor board has reprimanded me, accusing me of misrepresenting facts in my movie and asked to cut some scenes of the movie." This has certainly been to give a clean chit to the massacre of Hindus by Moplah Muslims.

Talking to the media, Ramsimhan has said that they will change the characters of the movie by using scissors in many scenes. He alleged that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had forced him to use his Muslim name Ali Akbar as a director in the midst of its review committee meeting. Ali Akbar, director of Malayalam Movies, also announced to leave the Islam religion in December 2021. He converted to Hinduism with his wife Lusimma on 13 January 2022 when religious fundamentalists expressed happiness after the helicopter crash of CDS General Bipin Rawat. After which he is known as Ramsimhan.

Ali Akbar has said that "About 8 decades ago in Malabar, a person had renounced Islam and named himself Ramsimhan. Tomorrow Ali Akbar is being called Ram Singh. It's the best name." Ramsimhan and his brother Dayasimhan, Dayasimhan's wife Kamala, their cook Raju Iyer and other family members were killed by Islamists for converting to Hinduism from Islam in 1947, just two weeks before independence.

During the review meeting of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Ramsimhan was asked why he used the name Hindu as the director of the movie. The censor board insisted that he was using his Islamic name Ali Akbar as a director. Indeed, Ramsimhan had decided to use his Hindu name as the director of the movie and his Islamic name as the producer, but the board did not seem to agree. According to him, his name as a director is also Ali Akbar.

He has said, "I think they also have a problem that a Muslim man converted to Hinduism and is making a film on the Malabar massacre of Hindus." He has said, "They don't want this message to proceed."

After the Kerala Censor Board refused to certify the movie, he sent the movie to the CBFC for review. According to the director, two committee meetings were advised to make cuts that change the character of the film. Akbar suspects that the local censor board has influenced the decision of the central board and is under pressure from the PFI to stop the film's release.

When asked why the Central Board was behaving in this manner, the director said, referring to Islamists and Leftists, "Please remember the famous dialogue from Vivek Agnihotri's movie 'The Kashmir Files'- 'Sarkar their So what happened, the system is ours.''

Moplah Massacre: There are many heart-wrenching events in history regarding the Moplah massacre. An infant was breastfed by his mother. The Moplah Muslims snatched the child from his mother's chest and cut him into two pieces. At one place a woman was repeatedly raped so brutally that she had died. Her little baby kept playing on her dead mother's body for a long time and tried to breastfeed. 10,000 Hindus were massacred. Their lands, temples and fields were all snatched away and destroyed.
