The Supreme Court of the country has asked the Center to reply to fix the maximum fees in private hospitals treating the patients of Corona. The Supreme Court, while hearing a PIL, has sought a reply from the Center within a week. The Supreme Court has demanded the Centre's response to set an upper limit on the fees charged by private hospitals to treat COVID-19 patients.

For your information, let us tell you that the Supreme Court on Friday sought a reply from the Center on a PIL seeking the treatment of COVID-19 patients in private hospitals of the country. A bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan issued notice to the Center on a PIL filed by Abhishek Goenka to set the upper limit of COVID-19 treatment by private hospitals.

In its statement, the court said that the copy of the PIL should be given to Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who would give directions on the issue and reply in a week. The petition also sought to increase the number of private quarantine facilities and hospitals with an option for infected people to avail such facilities on payment basis and said that such an option is currently available to patients. It is also said that the government should ask hospitals to fix indicative rates of treatment for the same standards of such facilities. The petition said that Mediclaim should be disposed of by insurance companies in time and cashless treatment should be provided to all the insured patients.
