The Supreme Court of India on Friday asked the central and state governments to ensure compliance with its June 9 order to send migrant laborers to their homes. The court said in its order that the workers who want to return should be sent to their house within 15 days.

A bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan, taking automatic cognizance of the problems of migrant laborers in the lockdown imposed due to Coronavirus, ordered them to be sent home. On Friday, the court said that its order of June 9 was very clear and the central and state governments should ensure that the laborers reach their villages within 15 days. The court also asked the concerned authorities to ensure that no worker has to spend a single penny to return to his state, city, and village. The bench also asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to talk to all the states and union territories in this regard. The bench asked for maximum publicity about this order. The next hearing in the case will now be held in July.

On the other hand, the number of cases of coronavirus infection is increasing continuously, but the good thing is that the number of people recovering is also increasing continuously. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the number of active cases in the country is steadily decreasing from the number of people recovering. In India, maximum 13,586 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the last 24 hours and 336 deaths occurred during this period. The total number of Corona positive cases in the country has now increased to 3,80,532. These include 1,63,248 active cases and 2,04,711 cured cases along with 12,573 casualties.
