New Delhi: The Central government has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court in the Pegasus Snooping Case. In an affidavit filed, the Centre has dismissed all allegations and said the Centre will constitute a committee of experts in the case to look into all aspects. The Centre said in its affidavit that all allegations leveled against the Centre in the Pegasus case are based on projections or other baseless media reports.

In an affidavit, the Central government said that the IT Minister had rejected all allegations made by the opposition in the Pegasus case in Parliament. Indeed, an international media association had claimed that more than 300 Indian mobile phone numbers were on the potential list for surveillance using the Pegasus spyware of Israeli firm NSO. The Pegasus case was heard again in the apex court today. In which SG Tushar Mehta said an affidavit has also been filed on the matter by the government. CJI NV Ramanna told the Centre that he would also hear the government's stand in the matter.

On behalf of the petitioner, Kapil Sibal objected to the affidavit saying that we say that pegasus was used by the government or its agency. There was no clear answer. When the government is not responding to the facts of the petitions, on what basis is it rejecting the allegations of petitions outright. Sibal said that after all, why did the government constitute a committee of experts. When he knows that there has only been wrong news in the media.
