New Delhi: The Central government has told the Supreme court that whatever was necessary to deal with the second wave of coronavirus infection, or whatever was required, has done all it professionally. The Central government has said that preparations were made even before the second wave of corona. This was stated by the Union Home Ministry in a 106-page affidavit filed in the Supreme court on Tuesday.

According to the affidavit, the Central Government held several meetings with the governments of all the States and repeatedly requested them to ensure compliance of corona guidelines in public places in their respective States. The affidavit prepared by the Additional Secretary of the MHA has placed a number of facts before the Supreme Court as several corona-related cases are being heard there. The Central Government has said that since the transition peak, there has been a wrong narrative that the Central Government has not taken any steps to deal with it and remained unaware of it.

A newly constituted bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud took cognizance of the affidavit. In it, the Modi government has explained how decisions were taken to supply oxygen to the 15 states worst affected by corona. Future data on corona cases operating in all the States was estimated and accordingly, they were given oxygen quota. It is reported that in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, the demand increased by 100 percent in just 5 days. The Centre has informed that 7 companies were approved for manufacture of 74-90 lakh remdesivir injections. It is given in a critical or normal corona condition, which is only 20 percent of the total active cases.
