Government will sell shares in 23 companies, says Finance Minister

New Delhi: The process of privatization continues in government sectors. The Modi government at the Center is trying to sell participation in several public sector companies. Now 23 companies have been named, work has started on the process of selling its stake. The Union Cabinet has also got the approval in this regard. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government wants to sell its partnership at the right time.

The Modi cabinet of the Center has approved the proposal to sell government stake in companies. In this episode, a list of 23 public sector companies was prepared, in which the government is considering selling its shares and is waiting for time. Finance Minister Nirmala says that the government's stake in the companies will be sold at a reasonable price.

According to media reports, Sitharaman said that 22-23 PSUs have already received Cabinet approval for disinvestment. The government now intends to disinvest at least in these companies. The Modi government has set a target of disinvestment of Rs 2.10 lakh crore for this financial year 2020-21. Out of this, 1.20 lakh crores will come from PSU disinvestment and 90 thousand crores will be collected by selling partnerships in financial institutions.
