Central Railway to Roll Out 30 Special Trains for 2023 Festive Season

New Delhi: With the vibrant Indian festive season fast approaching, which includes celebrated occasions such as Navratri, Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath Puja, there's a palpable eagerness among people across the nation to reunite with their loved ones in their hometowns. However, the surge in demand for transportation services during this period often makes securing tickets a daunting task.

To alleviate the travel woes of the festive crowd, Central Railway, a prominent zone under the Indian Railways, has unveiled plans to operate a fleet of 30 special trains catering to passengers' needs.

Central Railway's Special Train Offerings: Nagpur Bi-Weekly Superfast Special (20 Services)

Train number 02139, a Superfast Special, will commence its journey from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 12:20 a.m. every Monday and Thursday from October 19 to November 20, concluding its route in Nagpur at 3:30 p.m. on the same day.

Train number 02140, also a Superfast Special, will depart from Nagpur at 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Saturday from October 21 to November 21, arriving at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 4:10 a.m. the following day. This train will make stops at Thane, Dadar, Kalyan, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Manmad, Malkapur, Akola, Shegaon, Murtijapur, Wardha, and Badnera Dhamangaon along its route.

Nagpur-Pune Weekly Superfast Special (10 trips)

Starting from October 19 and running through November 16, a Superfast Special with train number 02144 will depart from Nagpur every Thursday at 7:40 p.m., reaching Pune at 11:25 a.m.
Commencing from October 20 and concluding on November 17, train number 02143 Superfast Special will set off from Pune every Friday at 4:10 p.m., arriving in Nagpur at 6:30 a.m. The train will make stops at Dhamangaon, Wardha, Akola, Badnera, Malkapur, Shegaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, Belapur, Urli, and Daund Chord Line en route.
In the midst of these developments, there are reports that Indian Railways is on the brink of introducing the Vistadome coach service in Kashmir, running between Budgam and Baramulla. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha or Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is expected to inaugurate this 40-seater coach, enhancing the travel experience for passengers in the picturesque region.
