NEW DELHI: The central government has approved to allocate space for a memorial honoring former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away at the age of 92. 
Dr. Manmohan Singh’s last rites, with full state honors, taking place today,  December 28, at New Delhi's Nigambodh Ghat. The Congress Party, led by its President Kharge, had requested that the site of cremation be transformed into a memorial to celebrate the former Ptrime Minister's enduring legacy.

Needlesas to say, Dr. Manmohan Singh, a visionary leader, is widely regarded as a key architect of India's economic transformation. His remarkable contributions as a statesman have earned global recognition, solidifying his place in history as a pivotal figure in India's development.

Government Confirms Memorial Plans
The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the decision on Friday, affirming that space would be allocated for Dr. Mammohan Singh's memorial. Home Minister Amit Shah informed Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge of the government's commitment to the memorial following a Cabinet meeting.

Congress President Mallikarjun Khargein his letter, emphasized the importance of maintaining the tradition of honoring former Prime Ministers by dedicating their funeral sites as memorials.

Kharge wrote, "Dr. Manmohan Singh was a great son of India. His contributions hold a highly revered place in the hearts and minds of the nation." Highlighting Dr. Singh’s achievements, he added, "As Finance Minister, he rescued India from economic turmoil and laid the foundation for the nation’s prosperity and stability. Today, the country thrives on the robust economic frameworks he established."

A Legacy to Remember
Dr. Manmohan Singh’s tenure as Prime Minister and Finance Minister transformed India’s economic landscape, earning him immense respect domestically and internationally. The proposed memorial will serve as a lasting tribute to his visionary leadership and enduring legacy.
