Centre likely to table the Chartered Accountants Bill in RS today

NEW DELHI: On Monday, the Centre is expected to table the Chartered Accountants, Cost and Works Accountants, and Company Secretaries (Amendment) Bill, 2022 in the Rajya Sabha for consideration and passage.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would push for the Bill to be taken into consideration and passed, amending the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, the Cost and Works Accountants Act, 1959, and the Company Secretaries Act, 1980, as passed by the Lok Sabha.

Arjun Munda, the Minister for Tribal Affairs, will introduce a Bill to amend the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950, to include certain communities in the list of Scheduled Tribes in relation to the State of Tripura, which was passed by the Lok Sabha and will be considered and passed by the Upper House of Parliament.

The Rajya Sabha's debate on the ministry of labour and employment's operations is also expected to come to a close with a response from the minister. The Rajya Sabha List of Business stated, "Reply to the discussion on the working of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, brought by M. Shanmugam on March 30."

Union Minister Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma will make a statement on the status of implementation of recommendations contained in the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry's 312th Report on action taken by the Government on the recommendations/ observations contained in its 308th Report on 'Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on MSME Sector and Mitigation Strategy Adopted to Counter it' pertaining to the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
