New Delhi: Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary has taken a dig at the Centre's covid vaccination policy last Saturday. "The vaccination strategy of the Government of India is a cocktail of dangerous mistakes and bluepers," he said. In fact, the Congress leader has written a letter to West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar. In this letter, he said, "Our government has deliberately created a digital device, which is slowing down the vaccination. He said the government is deliberately creating several price slabs for the same vaccine".
In a letter, he said, "The Central Government and the State Government have so far ordered only 39 crore vaccine doses for a state with a population of 140 crore. According to the Government of India, 21st May, 21st May. 31 crore vaccine doses have been given. But only 4. Only 45 crore Indians have received both doses of vaccine, which is only 3 of India's population. It is 14 percent". At the same time, he further wrote, "The average rate of vaccination is about 16 lakh vaccine doses per day. If we continue to vaccinate at the same pace, it will take us more than three years to immunize our adult population. If that happens, how can we save our fellow citizens from the third wave of COVID?"
He further said, "Given the present situation in the country, the need of the hour is for the BJP government at the Centre to buy the vaccine and deliver it free of cost to the States and private hospitals. We need to immunize our entire adult population on or before 31 December. This is the only way this virus can be defeated".
