The doors of the third Kedar Tungnath Dham were opened in the Cancer Ascendant at 11:30 pm on Wednesday. According to tradition, worship was done in the midst of Veda chanting by law. Baba Tungnath's Shrimurti was placed in the sanctum sanctorum. The summer worship of Aradhya started in Dham. The first Rudrabhishek of Lord Tungnath in the Tungnath temple was done in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The lockdown allowed only a limited number of devotees to attend during the Kapatodiksha. Earlier, at 7 in the morning, the rightful Panch Purohit of Makkumath in Chopta offered prayers to Lord Tungnath by offering prayers. After this, Lord Tungnath's moving festival Doli departed for Dham at around 8.30 am. The doli reached Devdarshani at 11 am in the midst of a 3-kilometer climb between the velvety Bugyalas. Doli took a short rest here.

The Panch Purohit performed the Mahabhishek Puja of the third Kedar with Panchang Pujan. After this, Mathadhipati Ram Prasad Maithani opened the doors of the Tungnath temple. A resolution of six months worship was made in his hands. The Panch Purohit called upon Baba Tungnath to wake up from the tomb with a Veda-mantra in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

Priests Satish Maithani, Vinod Maithani, Surendra Maithani and Ajay Maithani distributed the burnt and flowers of the Samadhi to the devotees. During this time, social distancing was also observed. On this occasion Tehsidar Jayveer Ram Badhani, Doli in-charge Yudhveer Pushpwan, Senior Administrative Officer Rajkumar Nautiyal, Temple Manager Prakash Purohit, Shiv Singh Rawat, Birendra Singh Rana, Mahavir Bajwal, Jeetpal Singh Bhandari etc. were present. The temple of Tungnath was decorated with ten quintals of flowers including marigold, rose and other species for inauguration. In lockdown, Tehsildar Jayveer Ram Badhani played a key role in opening the doors of Kedarnath, Second Kedar Madmaheshwar and III Kedar Tungnath Dham this year.
