Kedarnath: The process of registration for the Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand has started from 7 am on Tuesday. This registration is being done both online and offline. However, registrations are being done only for Kedarnath and Badrinath Dhams under the Chardham Yatra. Registration for the other two Dhams, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams, will be started when the date of opening of their doors will be fixed.

The number of passengers has been limited to avoid overcrowding. This is the reason that in the first phase of the Chardham Yatra, only 9,000 registrations will be done daily for Kedarnath and 10,000 for Badrinath. However, the capacity of passengers in Kedarnath and Badrinath has been fixed at 15,000 and 18,000 respectively. This means that only 55 to 60 percent of registration will be done every day for both Dhams. The remaining registration will be for those devotees who come together to visit the Chardhams.

Registering through the website is a very simple process. For this, you have to go to http://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in. After that, you will have to go to Register/Login and give other information including name, address, phone number. In this way, you can register yourself. However, at present no number has been decided regarding how many passengers will be registered with a mobile number. The number of 50 has been fixed for travel only. You can also register for Chardham Yatra through the messaging app WhatsApp. For this, you can WhatsApp on 8394833833. To register, you have to type YATRA and send it to this WhatsApp number. After that, some questions will be asked through the message from there, answering which you can easily register for the Chardham Yatra.
