New Delhi: Delhi's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on Monday (February 20) arrested Delhi Jal Board (DJB) joint director Naresh Singh in a case related to embezzlement of Rs 20 crore by the board. An FIR was registered in this matter in December. Earlier, employees of Fresh Pay and Aurum were arrested in the case of irregularities of 20 crores.

According to the report, while giving information, a senior ACB official said that Delhi Jal Board (DJB) joint director Naresh Singh has been arrested in the DJB e-kiosk water bill scam of 20 crores. He said that the matter is being further investigated to find out the role of other government employees or bank employees. Let us tell you that the ACB had earlier arrested 3 accused in the embezzlement case.

It is alleged that Naresh Singh, Joint Director of DJB, was taking a bribe of lakhs of rupees from the directors of Aurum and Fresh Pay. He had not reconciled the payment of the bill with Aurum and Fresh Pay. It is also alleged that since the contract was extended for the first time in 2015, he helped Fresh Pay to extend the contract for the collection of bill payments from e-kiosks every year (till 2020).
