In the case of death of three elephants one after another in the Surajpur and Balrampur districts on Tuesday, the central team has inspected the site. The central party feared that elephants were being killed in a planned manner. The causes of the murder at the local level were investigated. After these incidents, the central team also discussed with the local authorities about the measures being taken by the Forest Department for the protection of elephants. During this time, the villagers also informed the central party about the loss of elephants.

Between 9 and 11 June, the bodies of three elephants were found in Ganeshpur in Pratappur forest area and Karwan forest in Rajpur forest area. The dead body found in the Rajpur range was said to be six days old. To investigate these three incidents, the team of Dr Selvan, a scientist involved in the central team, Pragya Panda, the project consultant of Project Elephant, and the veterinarian Dr Ankush Dubey had reached Sarguja on Monday late night. On Tuesday morning, the central team went to Ganeshpur in Pratappur and Karwan forest in Rajpur and inspected the place where elephants died. The central party feared that elephants were not being killed.

Apart from this, the members also questioned the employees along with the villagers who reached around the spot. In front of the central party, the villagers who were suffering from elephants also put their problems. The officials also saw the houses, which were broken into by elephants. The forest guardian of Sarguja forest, wildlife SS Kanwar said that the central team visited Ganeshpur and Karwan, Gopalpur and questioned the villagers.
