Odisha Police detained three people on Tuesday, including two hospital employees, in connection with alleged child trafficking at the Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital, according to police.

After a FIR was filed about a missing newborn child, the accused were detained on January 28. According to reports, on January 28, Jali Swain, the wife of Rabi Swain of Notar village, reported a boy kid missing from the Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

Police described the arrested individuals as DHH nurse Kamala Dei, attendant Puspanjali Panda, and ASHA worker Bhanumati Nayak of Notar village. SP Nayagarh The child has been rescued, according to Siddharth Kataria, and the other accused persons will be caught soon.

"Three people, including two District Headquarter Hospital employees, were arrested in connection with infant trafficking after a FIR was filed regarding a missing newborn kid, who was rescued; an investigation is ongoing for everyone engaged in the racket," Kataria added.
