Bhopal: People have come out on the road to save two banyan-peepal trees that are about 20 years old in Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal. These trees are on the roadside, which the PWD is removing. On Wednesday morning, many people reached the trees. The little children stuck to the trees. He has requested Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan not to cut trees.

About 12 km road between Chuna Bhatti to Barrai is being constructed at a cost of Rs 50 crore. Road construction work has been going on for a long time. There are two trees on the roadside behind the Vishwakarma temple in Bagh Sevania. Umashankar Tiwari, president of Bagh Mugalia Extension Colony Development Committee, said that behind the temple there are two banyan and peepal trees, which are about 20 years old. Women also come here to worship. These trees are being cut. The platform was broken on Tuesday. At the same time, the roots were also uprooted. The PWD did not cut the tree on Tuesday following  protests by residents. People have launched a campaign not to cut these two trees.

At 9.30 am, people from many places including Katara Hills, Bagh Mugalia, Bagh Sevenia, Vivekananda Complex, Laharpura, Arvind Vihar, Amrai gathered near the trees. Holding posters in their hands, they kept pleading to save the trees. Many children clinged to the trees. They stood on the spot for about an hour. Many old people and women also joined the movement. Tiwari, chairman of the Colony Development Committee, said that the CM is planting saplings every day and motivating others to plant saplings. On the other hand, PWD is cutting old trees. Which they are opposing. The CM has been requested not to cut trees by tweeting. Despite this, if trees are cut, we will go to court.
