Leh: Since the violent clash between the India-China military over the LAC in Laddakh, tension has remained in both countries. Victor Gao, a chair professor at Sosho University in Beijing and a late Chinese leader working on Deng Xiaoping, says the interference of political leadership can reduce tensions between the two countries. He hoped that a telephone conversation between President Xi Jinping and PM Narendra Modi could happen soon.

Speaking to a news channel, Victor Gao said, PM Modi and President Xi Jinping will talk on the phone soon because if we only let military people deal with each other on the front, then we will probably have more problems. When you have two leaders from both countries who really care about the interests of their people, who care about peace and development, then you have a better way, to handle the situation in a good way.

Referring to Deng Xiaoping's policy on India and China, Victor Gao said, 'Deng Xiaoping's legacy is a legacy of peace and development. This is what is really necessary for China and India today. Neither India nor China can pose much threat to the Line of Actual Control (LAC)'. Deng Xiaoping is also called the creator of modern China.
