Christmas, New Year- Restaurants, Pubs Take Stringent  Covid Safety Protocols: Bangalore's Restaurants and pubs are ramping up precautions against the new COVID-19 variant, JN.1. To tackle its potential spread, these establishments have implemented stricter measures. They're now enforcing crowd control, conducting temperature checks, and mandating masks and hand sanitizers. Ahead of Christmas and New Year's celebrations, many places are reducing crowd sizes and steering clear of large gatherings.

Numerous restaurants and pubs have placed hand sanitizers on every table as a preventive step. Some along Church Street are even limiting visitors by introducing entry fees. A manager mentioned they've heightened sanitation frequency and are stocking up on essentials to avoid sanitizer shortages.

Certain pubs are taking a cautious approach, observing the situation before implementing stringent measures during the festive period. Starting December 23, an eatery plans to screen visitors' temperatures and mandate sanitizer use upon entry. They also aim to ensure mask compliance and have emergency medical supplies on hand.

However, some city hoteliers are holding off on imposing restrictions, waiting for government directives. Concerned about potential impacts on Christmas and New Year's business, they're yet to enforce COVID-related measures. A restaurant chain manager revealed they'll make decisions based on government instructions, as they haven't received any directives as yet.
