Amritsar: There has been a furor in the police-administration after the prisoners escaped by breaking the wall of Amritsar Central Jail in Punjab. Three prisoners are revealed to have escaped by breaking the prison wall. CM Captain Amarinder Singh has suspended 7 policemen in this case. The suspended policemen were posted as jail staff in Amritsar. Police teams are raiding various places in search of absconding prisoners.

The incident of prisoners escaping from Amritsar Central Jail is reminiscent of Nabha jail break in Patiala. CM Amarinder has given a judicial inquiry into the incident to B Purushartha, Divisional Commissioner of Jalandhar. It is being told that the prisoners were breaking the wall for 15 days. Some policemen were aware of this, but steps were not taken. At half-past three on Saturday night, 3 prisoners escaped by breaking the barrack wall.
