New Delhi: Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party President Arvind Kejriwal on Friday congratulated the people of Purvanchal for being allowed to build ghats in Kalkaji for Chhath Puja. Prior to this, permission was not given to building a 'ghat' in the park of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi in Kalkaji.

A senior leader of Aam Aadmi Party Sanjay Singh along with other party leaders had staged a sit-in in Greater Kailash in South Delhi for some time on Thursday. After this, the authorities had given permission to build the ghat. The AAP leaders had also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of doing dirty politics on the construction of the ghat. CM Kejriwal tweeted and wrote that 'Some people were not allowing the Purvanchal brothers to build ghats for Chhath. The Purvanchali brothers fought together and in the end, you won, and the defeat of arrogance. The ghat is now being built. Congratulations.''
