Raipur: BJP's Chhattisgarh in-charge D Purandeswari on Tuesday accused the Bhupesh Baghel government in Chhattisgarh of making false claims about providing employment to the youth after coming to power in 2018. BJP leader D Purandeswari accused the Congress government of the state of increasing unemployment in the state and said that Bhupesh Baghel ji has a curse that if he speaks the truth, his head will be broken into thousand pieces, so he never speaks the truth and always lies. Congress has expressed displeasure over Purandeswari's statement and asked her to apologise.
While addressing a press conference at BJP's state office Kushabhau Thackeray premises, BJP's Chhattisgarh in-charge said that the state government has failed to fulfil the election promises and in protest against this, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will hold a 'mega' protest against the state government. Purandeswari said, ''The Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government has failed to fulfil its promises made to the youth (in the wake of 2018 elections). Congress had made 36 promises in its manifesto. The Congress had promised to fulfil them by taking holy 'Gangajal' into their hands.''
Purandeswari said, ''The Congress had promised to provide employment to one lakh youth and unemployment allowance of Rs 2500 per year to one million youth. Is he (Chief Minister) ready to issue a white paper regarding how many youths have been given unemployment allowance. Will the Chief Minister answer that how many families were given jobs." She said, "I understand that Bhupesh Baghel ji is cursed that if he speaks the truth then his head will break into a thousand pieces. That's why he never tells the truth, always lies. Even now he is lying about the youth." When asked about his statement, he said that he said this because he keeps telling lies. Purandeswari said that the BJYM workers would stage a protest to gherao the CM's official residence in protest against the state government's failure to fulfil the promises made to the youth. BJYM national president and MP Tejashwi Surya will lead the protest. He also accused the Congress government of falsely claiming that the unemployment rate in Chhattisgarh is the lowest in the country. The BJP leader claimed that "the Congress cited a report by a private agency, the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), to claim that the unemployment rate is the lowest in the state. If so, then 400 posts issued by the government would be How 20,000 applications were received for recruitment. Recently when BJYM organized an 'Unemployment' camp across the state, it received 2.80 lakh applications from unemployed persons.
