BHOPAL (MADHYA PRADESH): On Monday,  February 17, 2025, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the five-day 24th All India Police Water Sports Competition in Bhopal. He welcomed players from all over the country who came to compete in the event.

The competition is being held at the Boat Club, Bada Talab in Bhopal from February 17 to 21. About 557 participants from 22 states, union territories, and central armed forces will take part. Among them, 132 women players will also compete.

CM Yadav spoke to the crowd, saying, "I welcome all the police and central armed forces players who are here to take part in this event. On one hand, they are doing their duty, keeping law and order, and ensuring safety for everyone, and on the other hand, they are making us proud with their achievements in sports. I congratulate them."

He added, "Our police personnel have made the country proud by showing their talent in both national and international sports competitions. They do their duty while also excelling in sports."

After the event's inauguration, CM Yadav told reporters, "There are 557 athletes from 22 states participating in this competition, where they’ll showcase their skills in kayaking, canoeing, and rowing. I wish them all the best. Bhopal is full of energy today, and sports are not only good for health but also help in building many qualities in people."

 

 

An official release mentioned that players from Assam, Manipur, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Punjab, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Kerala, CRPF, SSB, BSF, Assam Rifles, ITBP, Andaman & Nicobar, and Chandigarh are also competing in the event.

Over the next five days, 27 events in canoeing, kayaking, and rowing will take place, with 360 medals up for grabs:-60 gold, 60 silver, and 60 bronze for both men and women.
