CM Nitish Kumar holds meeting with Nitin Gadkari on road projects in Bihar

Patna: The Chief Minister of Bihar is constantly engaged in trying to make Bihar better. In this order, he met Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways. Union minister Nitin Gadkari, throughout the day, reviewed the progress of various projects related to Bihar's roads and water transport along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other senior officials of the Bihar Government.

Bihar CM has instructed to speed up the ongoing construction work to change the super structure of Mahatma Gandhi bridge connecting northern Bihar with rest of Bihar. So that it can be completed within the stipulated time frame.

Gadkari instructed to speed up the work of reconstruction of Mahatma Gandhi Bridge known as Lifeline of North Bihar so that it could be completed by November 2018. He also instructed the creation of DPR of Patna-Delhi Express-Way. The journey time will be 11 hours after the construction of expressway.

The Centre today stated more than half of the road projects sanctioned under Modi's special Bihar package had kicked off and work was likely to begin on left over issues soon.

"Road projects under the special package are 65 in number and involve a total cost of Rs 55,000 crore. Of these, 36 worth Rs 22,000 crore have taken off while DPRs have been submitted for another nine. The state government has said that DPRs will be submitted for the remaining 20," Nitin Gadkari told reporters as quoted by PTI.
