Goa CM Pramod Sawant takes charge, tells what will be the priority

Panaji: Goa CM Pramod Sawant on Monday took charge in the state capital Panaji. "The Swayamsoorna Goa 2.0 Mission will be launched, creating employment opportunities in all sectors will be our priority, it will be our endeavour to promote tourism in Goa with the support of the Central Government.

 

Pramod Sawant further said that restarting mining, focusing on tourism and job creation will be our priority. Pramod Sawant was sworn in as the state's CM for a second term on Monday in the presence of PM Narendra Modi and other dignitaries. Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai administered the oath of office to Sawant as chief minister and eight other BJP MLAs as cabinet ministers at a ceremony held at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Banbolim, near the state capital Panaji, four km from Raj Bhavan. More than 10,000 people attended the event.

 

The event was attended by several leaders including PM Modi, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Shripad Naik, BJP chief J P Nadda, Himachal Pradesh Governor Rajendra Arlekar and former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. Sawant took the oath in the Konkani language. This is his second term as the state's CM. He became chief minister for the first time in March 2019 after the death of the then CM Manohar Parrikar.
