Mumbai: CM Eknath Shinde has announced new appointments in the Shiv Sena. He has appointed his confidants to the post of party spokesperson and treasurer. At the same time, the campaign to stake a claim on the Shiv Sena from the Shinde camp seems to be gaining momentum. Kiran Pawaskar, who was a member of the Legislative Council from the NCP, has been appointed as the Secretary of Shiv Sena by Eknath Shinde. At the same time, former Thane Mayor Sanjay More has been appointed secretary by Shinde. Shiv Sena secretary of the Uddhav Thackeray faction was MP Anil Desai, Milind Narvekar, Suraj Chavan and Aadesh Bandekar. After the appointment of leader and deputy leader, Eknath Shinde has now challenged Uddhav Thackeray once again by appointing him as secretary.

Eknath Shinde has appointed MLA Deepak Kesarkar as the chief spokesperson of Shiv Sena. Besides, Shiv Sena deputy leader Gulabrao Patil has been elected. Kiran Pawaskar and former Dahisar councillor Sheetal Mhatre have been elected as spokespersons along with Uday Samant. Ambernath MLA Dr Balaji Kinikkar has been appointed as the treasurer of the party. On Wednesday, Eknath Shinde handed over the appointment letter to Kiran Pawaskar and Sanjay More.

In fact, on August 8, the Shinde faction and the Uddhav faction have to appear before the Election Commission with the party's documents. Meanwhile, the Uddhav faction of the Shiv Sena has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the proceedings in the Election Commission. Here, the Supreme Court has decided to hear the matter on August 1 along with other petitions. The petition filed by the Uddhav faction said that the disqualification of the Shinde faction MLAs is still pending. In such a situation, the Commission cannot determine who is the real Shiv Sena. Now all eyes are on the court and the Election Commission, from where it is going to be decided who will finally stake a claim on the Shiv Sena?
