Aurangabad: The controversy over the birthplace of Sai Baba of Shirdi is deepening. The people of Shirdi have been upset by CM Uddhav Thackeray calling Pathri the birthplace of Sai and announced an indefinite bandh in Shirdi from 19 January. That is, hotels, shops and ashrams will remain closed from Sunday. Along with this, vehicles running from Shirdi will also be stopped. That is, devotees may have to face a huge problem for darshan.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Durrani Abdullah Khan has said that there is enough evidence to prove that Saibaba was born in Pathri area of Parbhani district and people fear that if this city of Maharashtra would develop If so, the importance of Shirdi will be reduced where there is a grand temple of Saibaba. Devotees come in large numbers to visit the Sri Sai Janmasthan Temple in Pathri. CM Uddhav Thackeray announced an assistance of Rs 100 crore for the development of the town.

Abdullah Khan has said that the people living in Shirdi in Ahmednagar district fear that if the stones develop, the importance of Shirdi will decrease. The NCP leader said that there is ample evidence that the stone is the birthplace of Saibaba and President Ram Nath Kovind has also supported it earlier.
