Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said work on sports university in Meerut will start soon. CM Yogi says the player plays for the country. Handicapped sports persons have won medals for the country going beyond their physical disabilities. It is a matter of pride for the country and the State. In fact, CM Yogi had arrived in Krishi Vivi Meerut on Thursday to attend the felicitation ceremony of Olympic and Para Olympic athletes. CM Yogi made several big announcements during this period.

CM Yogi felicitated 17 medal winners at the felicitation ceremony by paying Rs 31 crore at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Agricultural University in Modipuram. CM Yogi announces Rs 10 lakh each to the coach of the medal winners. A total of 933 para players from all districts of the state had reached Meerut on Wednesday itself to attend the felicitation ceremony, which included 840 male and 93 female players. While there were 44 players for whom wheelchairs were specially arranged at the venue. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur was also present on the occasion.

CM Yogi further said that if sports or any other work is done well, his government will not delay in honouring it. CM Yogi praised the corona management of Noida district collector Suhas LY and announced that the state government has given five increments to Suhas, a record. On the other hand, State Sports Minister Upendra Tiwari said that for the last 73 years, there was a demand pending from para players that they should also get respect like other sportspersons, which has been fulfilled by our Government.
