New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has taken a big action on the scam in medical equipment procurement. CM Yogi has issued an SIT inquiry order to procure pulse oximeter and infrared thermometers at a rate higher than the market price in certain gram panchayats of some other districts including Sultanpur, Ghazipur, Bijnor, Barabanki.

The Yogi Government has formed SIT under the leadership of Additional Chief Secretary Revenue Renuka Kumar. IAS Amit Gupta and IAS Vikas Gothalwal have also been included in the SIT. The SIT will look into the entire matter and submit its report to the government within 10 days. Several districts are alleged to have been included in the scam over the purchase of thermometers and Oximeters. Earlier, the Yogi government took action against the District Panchayati Raj Officer (DPRO) of Sultanpur and Ghazipur. Additional Chief Secretary Panchyati Raj Manoj Kumar Singh suspended both the DPRO. Both DPROs are accused of purchasing pulse oximeters and infrared thermometers at much costlier prices from the market.

In the past, BJP MLA Devmani Dwivedi from Lanbhua in Sultanpur had complained to CM Yogi alleging a scam in the purchase of corona kits. The responsibility for the investigation was given to additional Chief Secretary Panchayati Raj Manoj Kumar Singh. Manoj Kumar Singh had initially upheld the allegation of making purchases at a rate higher than the market rate.
